ACROBiosystems Aneuro Forms Partnership with Diagnostic Biochips to Boost Neuroscience Drug Discovery

Wednesday, June 14, 2023

ACROBiosystems' Aneuro division has announced a collaboration with Diagnostic Biochips to advance neuroscience drug discovery. The partnership will focus on the development and launch of in vivo electrophysiology solutions for neurological research. The aim is to accelerate the process of discovering and commercializing drugs for neurological disorders.

Electrophysiology plays a vital role in understanding the complex neural networks involved in neuroscience. By monitoring the electrical signals and field potential of the brain at the cellular level, researchers can gain valuable insights into neural network function and the underlying mechanisms of neurological diseases.

The collaboration will address the challenges associated with in vivo electrophysiology, particularly in animal models, which are predominantly rodents. The companies will offer probes that eliminate the need for a headstage, reducing the physical burden on animals without compromising signal quality. Deep-array electrodes will also be provided, enabling recording at a depth of 90mm across 128 channels.

In addition to the probes, the partnership will offer data acquisition systems and AI/cloud-based data analysis software. These tools will facilitate the analysis of neural circuits, biomarker discovery, and drug screening. ACROBiosystems Aneuro will provide beginner's guides and training resources to support researchers new to the field of neurosciences.

Alongside in vivo electrophysiology solutions, ACROBiosystems Aneuro offers a range of other products for neurological drug development, including pre-formed fibrils (PFFs), Tau, and various protein antigens associated with neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, and brain tumors.

ACRO Certify, a business model introduced by ACROBiosystems, will play a role in facilitating access to global markets and establishing a strong brand presence. The model encompasses marketing and sales channels, product and brand value, quality assurance, and global logistics, all aimed at assisting pharmaceutical developers in leveraging advanced technologies.
