Labcorp, a leading global life sciences company, has successfully completed its acquisition of RWJBarnabas Health's outreach laboratory business and select related assets. RWJBarnabas Health, New Jersey's largest academic health system, is involved in the collaboration.
Bill Haas, Senior Vice President of Labcorp Diagnostic's Northeast Division, emphasized Labcorp's commitment to the communities, physicians, and health systems it serves. He stated, "Our expanded relationship with RWJBH will build on the solid foundation RWJBarnabas Health has developed and will offer patients and providers enhanced access to high-quality laboratory services, seamless data integration and connectivity, and exceptional value to help improve patient care and outcomes."
As a result of this collaboration, physicians and patients affiliated with RWJBarnabas Health will benefit from an expanded test menu and gain access to Labcorp's extensive network of patient service centers, including Labcorp at Walgreens. Furthermore, Labcorp will provide expanded health plan coverage for patients previously served by a RWJBarnabas Health laboratory, improved services in rural markets, and the potential for reduced out-of-pocket laboratory costs. Local communities will also have access to same-day and STAT testing.
John Doll, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of RWJBarnabas Health, expressed pride in their mission to create and sustain healthy communities through the provision of high-quality healthcare throughout New Jersey.
