These films are made from plant-based materials instead of fossil fuels, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with traditional plastic resins. Validated under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS, these biobased films maintain the reliability of Thermo Fisher’s Aegis™ and CX film offerings, ensuring consistency for biopharma manufacturers.

By adopting these sustainable films, customers can lower their environmental footprint without needing to re-validate their BPCs, thereby speeding up time-to-market for treatments while promoting environmental stewardship. Thermo Fisher supports these efforts by facilitating the recycling of used BPCs into high-quality plastic lumber, diverting approximately 400,000 pounds of plastic waste from landfills or incineration. This initiative aligns with Thermo Fisher's broader commitment to sustainable practices, including earning ISCC PLUS certification for biobased resins used in their Nunc Cell Factory™ product line.
