Repertoire® Immune Medicines and Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) have announced a partnership to advance tolerizing vaccines for autoimmune diseases. This collaboration aims to develop precise, effective, and lasting treatments for patients grappling with autoimmune conditions by recalibrating the immune system.
In this strategic alliance, Repertoire will lead the initial stages, utilizing its T cell receptor (TCR)-epitope discovery platform, DECODE, and its proprietary lipid nanoparticle delivery technology. Meanwhile, BMS will take charge of clinical development, regulatory affairs, and commercialization of these vaccines under an exclusive global license. Repertoire will receive an upfront payment of $65 million and stands to gain up to $1.8 billion contingent upon achieving various milestones, along with tiered royalties.
Dr. Torben Straight Nissen, CEO of Repertoire and Executive Partner of Flagship Pioneering, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration's potential. He believes it will combine BMS's expertise in immunology with Repertoire's unique capability to pinpoint disease-associated epitopes in autoimmune patients, ultimately benefitting patients.
