Genesis Therapeutics Appoints Aleksandra Faust, Ph.D., as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer

Genesis Therapeutics, a leader in pioneering artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to develop transformative medicines for severe diseases, has appointed Aleksandra Faust, Ph.D., as its Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer.

Dr. Faust brings over two decades of leadership in AI and technology, with expertise in developing advanced machine learning (ML) systems for complex applications such as robotics and autonomous vehicles. 

She most recently served as Director of Research at Google DeepMind, where she led foundational model learning research and contributed to key innovations including Gemini and generalist web agents.

Her prior experience includes co-founding reinforcement learning research at Google Brain, establishing task and motion planning research in Robotics at Google, leading ML for self-driving car planning and controls at Waymo, and serving as a principal investigator at Sandia National Laboratories.

Dr. Faust holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. With more than 60 published works and an h-index of 40, her research has been widely recognized, including features in The New York Times and Forbes. She has earned several prestigious honors, such as the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Early Career Award and recognition as a Distinguished Alumna by the University Of New Mexico School Of Engineering.
