Abzena Invests $5 Million to Expand Bioconjugation and ADC Capabilities
Introduction:
Abzena, a leading CDMO for complex biologics and bioconjugates, announced a significant expansion of its Bristol, PA site for bioconjugate development and cGMP manufacturing.
Features
Abzena is injecting $5 million into its laboratory infrastructure, bolstering bioconjugation capabilities and expanding biopharmaceutical drug programs at its Bristol site.
This investment includes the acquisition of a Sartorius Hipersep® Flowdrive Pilot System, capable of operating at pressures up to 100 bars, facilitating swift purification processes and enabling the isolation of substantial quantities in a single day.
Bristol facility is undergoing optimization, particularly in Quality Control (QC) and analytical laboratories, to meet the surging demand from customers.
Abzena has introduced five advanced Waters Arc Premier LC Systems and two ACQUITY Premier Chromatography Systems, ensuring consistent and dependable product analysis across all developmental stages, from early phases to cGMP release and stability testing.
Complementing these technological advancements are renovations in non-laboratory areas, including upgraded flooring, modernized lighting, and revamped communal spaces, aimed at boosting workplace efficiency and fostering a more conducive environment for employees.
This strategic investment in the Bristol site reaffirms our dedication to delivering top-tier programs that enhance our customers' success prospects.
With the burgeoning development of bioconjugate and antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) programs, we remain steadfast in our commitment to facility investments, aimed at streamlining processes and expediting the delivery of these programs to patients.
Abzena looks forward to further investments in development and manufacturing at the Bristol, PA facility, slated for completion throughout 2024.
