Amgen Strengthens U.S. Footprint with $650M Investment

Amgen has announced a $650 million expansion of its U.S. manufacturing network, aimed at increasing production capacity and integrating advanced technologies throughout its operations.

It reflects Amgen’s ongoing commitment to strengthening U.S. biomanufacturing and reinforcing the resilience of its global supply chain. 

The project also highlights the importance of Puerto Rico’s skilled workforce and its well-established biopharmaceutical infrastructure, contributing to the region’s position as a leading hub for biotechnology.

The investment will focus on the company’s biologics manufacturing facility in Juncos, Puerto Rico, and is expected to create nearly 750 jobs, including construction roles and highly skilled manufacturing positions.

The expansion strengthens domestic supply chain security and fosters long-term growth in the biopharmaceutical sector, supporting innovation and competitiveness in Puerto Rico and across the United States.

The expansion is expected to progress over the coming years.
