Axplora Invests $60 Million to Expand High-Potency Drug Manufacturing Capacity
Introduction
Axplora has announced a major expansion of its manufacturing and research capabilities in response to the growing demand for highly potent drugs. The development will take place at its Farmabios site in Gropello Cairoli, Italy, and is aimed at accelerating drug development and improving production efficiency.
Features
The latest phase includes the construction of a new 4,500 square metre, three-storey research and laboratory facility.
This hub will support faster development and scale-up of complex therapies by bringing research, testing, and manufacturing activities together in one location.
The new facility will include advanced research and development laboratories, quality control units, microbiology labs, and integrated support areas.
It will be directly connected to existing manufacturing operations, allowing smoother transitions from early development to full-scale production.
Construction of the new facility is currently underway, with completion expected in February 2027.
