Johnson & Johnson Expands Operations with $2 Billion North Carolina Facility
Introduction
Johnson & Johnson has confirmed a $2 billion investment to expand its manufacturing presence in the United States. This development is part of a wider strategy to increase advanced medicines production within the country and reduce reliance on overseas supply.
Features
The new facility will be dedicated to advanced medicine production and is expected to create around 120 jobs in North Carolina.
The partnership with FUJIFILM will strengthen the company’s manufacturing capacity, while complementing ongoing projects such as the construction of a major site in Wilson, North Carolina.
The Wilson development alone will employ over 500 people once fully operational and is creating approximately 5,000 construction roles during its build phase.
Alongside the Holly Springs site, Johnson & Johnson plans to announce further advanced manufacturing facilities in the United States and to expand existing sites.
The company is also progressing with a wider $55 billion programme, focused on research, technology, and production infrastructure in key therapeutic areas including oncology, neuroscience, immunology, cardiovascular health, and robotic surgery.
This facility is expected to be completed by 2029.
