Novartis Invests $23 Billion to Expand New Texas Radioligand Therapy Facility

Introduction

Novartis has started construction on a new 46,000 sq. ft radioligand therapy (RLT) manufacturing facility in Denton, Texas, as part of its wider $23 billion investment programme in the United States. The project strengthens the company’s expanding RLT manufacturing network and supports growing demand for cancer therapies across the southern US region.

Features

The Denton facility will become Novartis’ fifth RLT manufacturing site in the United States and its first production facility in Texas.

The site is designed to improve supply chain efficiency and bring cancer treatments closer to patients in the southern states.

The expansion forms part of the company’s broader strategy to increase domestic research and manufacturing capacity across the US. The new facility will support the production of personalised cancer treatments that require rapid manufacturing and delivery coordination.

The project is also expected to create new jobs in bioengineering, advanced manufacturing, quality assurance and operations, contributing to economic development in Denton and nearby communities.

The Texas site adds to Novartis’ growing nationwide RLT network, which already includes facilities in New Jersey, Indiana and California, alongside a new site planned in Florida.
The company is also continuing expansion work at existing facilities in Indianapolis and Millburn to meet future treatment demand.

In addition to the Denton project, Novartis has recently announced or started construction on several other US facilities, including manufacturing and research centres in North Carolina, California and Florida.
