Mohamad Tabrizi
Abeona Therapeutics® Inc. has appointed Mohamad Tabrizi, M.S., M.B.A., as Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer (CBO).
In this newly expanded leadership role, Mr. Tabrizi will be responsible for guiding the company’s corporate strategy and business development initiatives, while also supporting operational efficiency as Abeona advances its pipeline and long-term growth objectives.
Mr. Tabrizi brings extensive experience spanning venture capital, corporate strategy, and executive leadership within the life sciences sector. He joins Abeona from the venture capital ecosystem, where he served as General Partner and Managing Director at Pandect Bioventures and the Berkeley Catalyst Fund. In these roles, he led investment strategy, deal execution, and portfolio management, working closely with emerging biotechnology companies to support value creation and commercialization readiness.
In addition to his investment leadership, Mr. Tabrizi has hands-on operational experience across multiple portfolio companies. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Azkarra Therapeutics and as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Circle Pharma, where he played a key role in strategic planning, capital management, and organizational development. His ability to bridge strategic vision with operational execution positions him well to support Abeona’s next phase of growth.
Mr. Tabrizi’s business expertise is grounded in a strong scientific background. Earlier in his career, he held research fellowships and associate roles at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Stanford University Medical School, providing him with a deep understanding of translational science and innovation-driven development.
With his combined strengths in science, strategy, and leadership, Mr. Tabrizi is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing Abeona Therapeutics’ mission and expanding its business and partnership opportunities.
