Dr. Abayomi Johnson

SynGenSys, a biotechnology company developing synthetic gene promoter systems for biopharma manufacturing and cell and gene therapy applications, has announced several key leadership appointments to strengthen its commercial and scientific capabilities.

The newly created roles are intended to support the company’s continued growth, accelerate commercial expansion, and strengthen alignment between customer needs, product development, scientific innovation, and external partnerships.

Dr. Abayomi Johnson will serve as Head of Cell and Gene Therapy Expression Technologies, leading the development of commercially viable expression technologies for advanced therapies. Meanwhile, Dr. Cristina Alexandru-Crivac has been appointed Head of Bioinformatics and Data Science, where she will oversee the expansion of SynGenSys’ computational and bioinformatics capabilities to support technology development and customer programs.
