Invivyd Appoints Marc W. Elia as Chief Executive Officer

Invivyd, Inc. has appointed Marc W. Elia, the company’s current Chairman of the Board of Directors, as Chief Executive Officer.

Elia will serve as both Chairman and CEO, as Invivyd advances its VYD2311 program toward potential regulatory submission.

Elia brings existing leadership experience with Invivyd through his role as Chairman. His appointment comes as the company approaches topline results from studies evaluating VYD2311, which are expected around the end of the third quarter of 2026.

The company has also appointed Ian Sheffield as an independent member of its Board of Directors. Sheffield is the founder and Managing Partner of North Country Holdings, a private investment firm, and brings more than 20 years of experience as a healthcare investor and medical technology executive. His previous roles include senior positions at Ashler Capital, Citadel, Bridger Capital, Great Point Partners, and Versant Ventures.

Invivyd is preparing for multiple potential regulatory pathways following the VYD2311 study results. Depending on the data, the company plans either to fully unblind the DECLARATION study and pursue a Biologics License Application (BLA) for traditional approval, or partially unblind the study while maintaining blinded clinical events and seek Accelerated Approval based on antiviral activity and safety.

VYD2311 is an anti-COVID-19 monoclonal antibody that Invivyd describes as functionally identical to its earlier antibodies, adintrevimab and pemivibart. The company has been engaging with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on potential filing pathways and expects to provide further updates in the coming weeks.
