Joseph Hand
Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holding Corp. (Tonix), a fully integrated biopharmaceutical company with marketed products and a robust pipeline of development candidates, has appointed Joseph Hand, Esq., as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Operations.
Mr. Hand brings extensive leadership experience across legal, business development, human resources, and information technology operations.
He spent nearly a decade at Celgene Corporation, ultimately serving as Executive Vice President, Global Human Resources and Corporate Services, and as a member of the Executive Committee. In this role, he oversaw all employee-related functions, including talent development, recruitment, and compensation and benefits, as well as the management of Celgene’s global facilities. He also played a strategic role in major corporate transactions, including the $74 billion acquisition of Celgene by Bristol Myers Squibb and its integration, and the $13.4 billion divestiture of Otezla® to Amgen.
Following his tenure at Celgene, Mr. Hand served as Chief Administrative Officer at Phathom Pharmaceuticals, where he was instrumental in recruiting more than 300 employees across various departments and building the company’s commercial sales force. Earlier in his career, he practiced as a litigation attorney at the international law firm Jones Day.
Mr. Hand holds a BBA from the University Of Notre Dame and a JD from New York University School of Law.
