Dr. Molly Smith

SynGenSys, a biotechnology company developing synthetic gene promoter systems for biopharma manufacturing and cell and gene therapy applications, has announced several key leadership appointments to strengthen its commercial and scientific capabilities.

The newly created roles are intended to support the company’s continued growth, accelerate commercial expansion, and strengthen alignment between customer needs, product development, scientific innovation, and external partnerships.

Dr. Molly Smith has been appointed Head of CHO Expression Technologies and will lead the expansion of the company’s CHO.SET® synthetic promoter platform. Her expertise includes mammalian expression systems, cell line engineering, and synthetic promoter design. She earned her Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from the University of Sheffield, focusing on vector engineering strategies to improve transient CHO expression systems.
