Dr. Prasun Mishra

Longevica Therapeutics, Inc., a preclinical biotechnology company developing target discovery and small-molecule therapeutics from mammalian geroscience, has appointed biopharmaceutical executive Dr. Prasun Mishra as Chief Executive Officer and member of its Board of Directors.

The appointment follows the completion of Longevica’s four-year, $13 million in vivo mammalian screening program conducted at The Jackson Laboratory. The program evaluated 1,033 small-molecule compounds across more than 16,000 mice over their natural lifespans, generating a proprietary dataset that the company describes as the world’s largest mammalian longevity screening program of its kind.

Longevica is now transitioning from foundational discovery toward systematic drug development. Analysis of the dataset has identified two previously uncharacterized candidate biological mechanisms associated with mammalian lifespan extension. The findings are expected to support the advancement of selected candidates into formal Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling studies for age-related disorders with significant unmet medical needs.

Dr. Mishra brings more than two decades of experience in biopharmaceutical research and development, translational medicine, and corporate strategy. His career includes leadership and scientific roles at Genentech, Roche, the National Institutes of Health, the National Cancer Institute, the University of California, San Francisco, and Rutgers University.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mishra has led more than 30 therapeutic research programs, advanced 12 candidate molecules into clinical trials, and guided four therapeutics through global regulatory approvals. His expertise spans translational oncology, precision medicine, and adaptive clinical development.

Under his leadership, Longevica plans to advance lead candidates into IND-enabling studies, expand its AI-driven computational drug discovery platform, and pursue strategic biopharma partnerships. The company is also evaluating opportunities in companion animal health and consumer healthspan applications alongside its human therapeutic pipeline.
