Immunic, Inc., a late-stage biotechnology company developing novel oral therapies for neurologic diseases, has appointed biopharmaceutical executive Erik Lundgren as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Lundgren succeeds Daniel Vitt, Ph.D., who will continue to guide the company’s scientific strategy and portfolio development while remaining a member of Immunic’s Board of Directors. The leadership transition comes as Immunic advances its lead candidate, vidofludimus calcium, through pivotal late-stage clinical development programs and prepares for potential regulatory and commercial milestones.

As CEO, Mr. Lundgren will oversee the company’s next phase of growth, including the ongoing Phase 3 ENSURE program in relapsing multiple sclerosis (RMS), the planned Phase 3 program in primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS), and preparations for potential new drug application (NDA) submissions, regulatory approvals, and commercialization activities.

Mr. Lundgren brings nearly 20 years of experience across commercial strategy, global portfolio management, product launches, marketing, and general management within the biopharmaceutical industry. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of the Commercial Portfolio Organization at Genentech, where he directed commercial strategy across the company’s broad therapeutic portfolio.

Prior to that role, he was General Manager of Roche Czech Republic, leading operational and commercial activities, and previously served as Lifecycle Leader for Huntington’s disease within Roche’s neuroscience division. His career includes more than a decade at Genentech, where he held leadership positions supporting several major product launches and commercialization initiatives.

Among his notable achievements, Mr. Lundgren played a key role in the launch and commercialization of Ocrevus® (ocrelizumab), a leading therapy for relapsing and primary progressive multiple sclerosis. He also contributed to the launches of oncology therapies including Kadcyla® (ado-trastuzumab emtansine) and Zelboraf® (vemurafenib), while leading multiple sales and commercial teams within Genentech’s oncology business.

Mr. Lundgren holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Duke University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

In connection with his appointment, Immunic granted Mr. Lundgren an inducement equity option to purchase 1,000,000 shares of the company’s common stock under its 2026 Inducement Equity Compensation Plan. The award was granted in accordance with Nasdaq Listing Rule 5635(c)(4) and will vest over a four-year period, subject to continued employment.
