Applied Pharmaceutical Innovation (API), one of Canada’s leading life sciences commercialization organizations, has appointed Dr. Launa Aspeslet as its first Chief Translational Officer.

Dr. Aspeslet brings nearly 30 years of experience across the full spectrum of life sciences innovation, from early-stage biotech startups to multinational pharmaceutical companies. Over her career, she has led the advancement of multiple products from early R&D through FDA approval, managed hundreds of complex regulatory interactions across major global markets, and built deep expertise in strategy, compliance, and execution.

She has also successfully scaled a clinical research organization to global operations in more than 20 countries, growing its workforce to over 300 employees.

A long-time supporter of API, Dr. Aspeslet has served as both an Advisor and Chair of the Board, playing a key role in the organization’s development since its inception.

In this newly established executive role, she will lead API’s regulatory affairs, pre-clinical and clinical development, quantitative solutions, and early product prototyping functions. Her leadership will be instrumental in advancing API’s mission to provide companies with the infrastructure, expertise, and strategic support needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving life sciences landscape.
