Julie Sawyer Montgomery

Danaher Corporation has announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Julie Sawyer Montgomery as President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board.

Rainer Blair will retire and serve as a senior advisor to Danaher, supporting a seamless leadership transition.

Sawyer Montgomery joined Danaher in 2017 and has played a key role in transforming the company’s Diagnostics platform into a market-leading business. During her tenure, she helped grow the platform’s revenue from approximately $6 billion in 2017 to approximately $11 billion today, while roughly tripling operating profit.

She brings nearly 25 years of experience spanning healthcare, commercial operations and research and development. After joining Danaher through Beckman Coulter Diagnostics in 2017, she led commercial operations and R&D before becoming President of the business in 2020.

Since then, Sawyer Montgomery has taken on roles of increasing responsibility across Danaher and most recently served as Executive Vice President, overseeing the company’s Diagnostics platform.

In connection with her appointment, Danaher has also announced special equity incentive awards for key members of its leadership team and founders.
