XORTX Therapeutics Appoints Mika Grasso as Co-CEO

XORTX Therapeutics Inc. has appointed Mika Grasso as Co-Chief Executive Officer, reinforcing its executive leadership as the late-stage clinical pharmaceutical company advances programs focused on gout and progressive kidney disease.

In his new role, Grasso will oversee finance and public markets activities while supporting the company's strategic restructuring and growth initiatives.

The appointment comes as XORTX continues to strengthen its corporate structure following recent financing and increasing investor interest. The company is currently focused on reorganizing its corporate and issuer framework, restarting key drug development programs, and preparing regulatory filings for its lead gout therapy.

Grasso has served as a member of XORTX's Board of Directors since March 24, 2026. His appointment to the Co-CEO position is intended to enhance the company's executive leadership and improve operational efficiency in financial management and public market activities.

Before joining XORTX's executive team, Grasso served as Investment Manager at a family office, where he was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and managing direct investment and co-investment opportunities. Earlier in his career, he held finance and investment banking roles at Zions Capital Markets, Paulson Investment Company, Goldman Sachs, and Power Systems Management, gaining extensive experience in capital markets, investment analysis, and corporate finance.

Grasso earned a Master of Science in Finance with a concentration in Investment Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Leeds School of Business.

His appointment reflects XORTX's commitment to strengthening its leadership team as it advances regulatory preparations, clinical development programs, and corporate growth strategies while positioning the company for continued progress in developing innovative therapies for gout and kidney disease.
