Cheryl Pegus
Boston Scientific Corporation has announced the election of Dr. Cheryl Pegus to its board of directors.
Dr. Pegus brings over 25 years of experience in clinical and business leadership, with a strong focus on enhancing healthcare quality, affordability, and equity. Most recently, she served as a partner at Morgan Health, where she concentrated on improving health care outcomes.
Dr. Pegus has held prominent roles in various major healthcare organizations, including executive vice president of Health & Wellness at Walmart, president of Consumer Solutions and chief medical officer at Cambia Health Solutions, and chief medical officer at Walgreens. Her earlier career includes leadership positions at SymCare Personalized Health Solutions, Pfizer, and Aetna, as well as private practice as a cardiologist.
She has also contributed significantly to the field of cardiology, having served as board chair for the Association of Black Cardiologists, and currently serves on the board of the American Heart Association. Dr. Pegus is also the co-founder of A New Beat, an organization focused on improving cardiovascular health and career opportunities for women and underrepresented minorities.
Dr. Pegus holds a B.A. from Brandeis University, an M.D. from Weill Cornell Medical College, and an M.P.H. from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
