Robert A. Michael
AbbVie has announced that Robert A. Michael has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and has joined the company's Board of Directors.
Mr. Michael succeeds Richard A. Gonzalez, who has served as CEO since AbbVie's inception in 2013 and is now transitioning to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board.
Previously, Mr. Michael served as President and Chief Operating Officer of AbbVie, playing a crucial role in overseeing global commercial operations, finance, human resources, global operations, business development, and corporate strategy. His tenure at AbbVie also includes roles such as Vice Chairman and President, Vice Chairman of Finance and Commercial Operations, and Chief Financial Officer. With over 31 years of experience in various leadership positions across pharmaceuticals, aesthetics, diagnostics, diabetes care, and nutrition, Mr. Michael began his career at Abbott as part of its financial development program.
